Corewell Health Team Members Would Be Expected to Pay the Teamsters’ Dues Under a “Union Security Clause,” as well as Potential Fees, Fines and Assessments.

The Teamsters is a big business and will expect Corewell Health team members to pay it regardless of whether or not you signed a union authorization card, voted against unionization, don’t want the union, or disagree with what it negotiates. Plus, it is free to use the money it collects from team members as it wants and without team members’ approval.

Here are some facts about Teamsters dues and fees:

  • Union dues are typically 2.5 times an employee’s hourly rate of pay per month
  • Union dues can range from $16 per month up to $125 (Local 332) or $22 per month up to $178 (Local 337)
  • One time initiation fees are $40 (Local 332) or can range from $25 to $50 (Local 337)

Per the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Constitution and Bylaws, dues for members employed in an industry in which there is a legal right to strike are two and one-half (2.5) times an employee’s hourly rate of pay per month.
